For hatcheries
Trace each egg set through to chicks out
Keep received eggs, candling results, hatch counts and chick transfers together. PoultryDesk records each set as a Lot, with a running balance from eggs in to the last chick accounted for.
From egg receipt to chick transfer
Receive and set the eggs
Record the egg source, breed and count, then set the eggs in a cabinet with their day-zero date. The set cannot exceed the eggs received.
Candle and record the hatch
Record candling results and viable eggs, then live chicks, late-deads and culls at hatch. Each stage retains its counts so the set's outcome can be reviewed.
Transfer or reconcile the chicks
Transfer chicks to your own broiler or layer Lot, or to an outside customer. Record chicks that died, were culled or could not be accounted for before closing the set.
What your records show
- Fertility and hatch rate
- Review fertility, hatch percentage and chick yield for each set from the counts your team records.
- Egg and chick balances
- See the egg balance per supply and the chicks still awaiting transfer. The set stays open while chicks remain to be accounted for.
- A traceable set history
- Follow setting, candling, hatch and transfer records. A correction keeps the original history and the reason for the change.
Before you start
Can hatched chicks become my next flock?
Yes. A transfer into your own broiler or layer flock opens that Lot automatically, so you do not need to place the same birds again. See the transfer steps
Does this include breeder flock management?
No. Breeder management is coming later. The current hatchery workflow starts with received eggs and follows their set through to chick transfer. Discuss your hatchery setup
