Finance manager: first day

Use /finance for your farm's money. Setup center links to outstanding Finance tasks; optional partners, price books and tax registers do not block work.

The Finance overview: all-time revenue, expense and net in KES, and a monthly trend.

What to do

  1. Record sales and expenses. Check the physical stock source, totals and each Lot's share. Choose Payment, then review and confirm. Follow the capture steps.
  2. Check shared costs. Review allocation before posting. For direct Feed, check product, invoice stage and phase warnings.
  3. Set prices. Use /finance/setup for price books and margin floors. Customer agreements hold negotiated prices.
  4. Plan and review. Set budgets and recurring expenses. Finance > Profitability shows margin and cost per egg or bird.
  5. Correct mistakes. Use corrections or re-allocation; history remains available in /audit.

For existing records, use Imports. Match each partner and stock source, correct the numbered record, then Save and check. Use the batch's Customers or Suppliers panel to match repeated names together. Only enter new payments: blank Paid means unspecified; zero means unpaid. Return to Check import before approval.

Watch out

Physical stock and the financial revenue split are separate choices. For eggs, choose farm-produced or purchased stock and the correct farm/grade. For birds, select the Lot and grade, then already-harvested stock or selection with the sale. Sort eggs during sale when needed.

Produced harvested birds show as not valued in inventory valuation; do not add them as zero-cost purchases. Give Finance permissions only to people who need them.
