Flocks, egg sets, and Lots

A Lot is one broiler flock, layer flock or hatchery egg set, tracked from placement to closeout.

The lots index

Open Lots and tap a row to open its flock. On phone, More lot actions opens daily rounds and CSV download.

The Lots overview with the lot pulse board: broiler, layer and hatchery lots with their current count, mortality and daily feed.

Feed (kg/d) is today's requirement, not cumulative feed. Age counts from placement to today, or closeout for a closed Lot. Open the Lot for cumulative feed, feeding phase and performance.

Set up breed profiles

Open Lots > Setup > Breed profiles. Add Name and Vertical; templates use the profile to match feeding to genetics. + Add note is optional. Archiving prevents new selections without changing existing feeding programs.

Lot statuses

Planned awaits stocking. Active has birds or eggs. Closed has every bird or chick accounted for and stops further removals.

Opening a lot

Choose + New lot, complete the placement and submit.

The Place a lot form: vertical, lot ID and starting point, then the placement details.

What you are opening

Choose Vertical and Lot ID carefully: neither can change later. IDs allow letters, numbers, dots, dashes and underscores, up to 80 characters.

How many, and when

  1. Choose New placement, or Existing operation partway through a cycle for an established broiler/layer flock.
  2. Enter original Birds placed or Eggs set and Placed on or Set on.
  3. Enter Age at placement in days for older birds; leave blank for day-olds.
  4. For an existing flock, also enter Birds alive today and its count date, no earlier than placement. The opening difference is not recorded as deaths. Record only subsequent mortality normally.

Where they are going

Choose Site to narrow House, then check Housing system. Hatchery placement does not record a site. In Lots imports, save a changed Site before choosing House; locations must be active and consistent. Site-scoped imports require an allowed location.

Optional, and what each one buys you

Feeding program keeps a snapshot of the chosen plan; later template edits do not change it. Breed enables breed comparisons. Empty lists mean no matching setup exists for that vertical.

Recommended schedules appear under Breed when the breed's guide recommends some and you can apply schedules. They are ticked; untick any you do not want. After the lot is saved they are applied with day 0 at the hatch date (placement date less age in days). A schedule that cannot be applied is named with a link to apply it from Planning. A lot queued offline gets its schedules once it has synced, from Planning.

Reading a lot's detail view

Use Overview for counts and Needs attention. + Record opens capture; tabs hold production, feed, growth, health, finance and events as applicable. Mark as resolved hides an attention item on this device for three days; Undo restores it.

Reconciling the bird count

Open Lot actions > Reconcile count, enter the physical bird count and a reason, then submit. The live count changes from today; earlier mortality and other records remain unchanged. Find the reason in Events.

Feed and water rounds

The Feed and water round for two lots, with feed suggested from each lot's feeding program and the stock it will come from.

  1. Open Lots > Feed and water round > Manual capture.
  2. Choose date and Lots. After a date change, wait for refreshed birds, feeding phase, item and stock context; loading a new date needs connection.
  3. Check feed and water values, then submit. They save separately; retry only failed results. Loaded measured entries can queue offline.

Use Automation for each Lot's daily-generation toggle. For gaps:

  1. Open Historical > Generate missing records; choose Feed, Water or both and up to 31 days.
  2. Use Flocks to limit scope; Manual capture filters do not apply here. Optionally override Feed item, otherwise use each flock's schedule.
  3. Preview records, check estimated quantities, stock and costs, then Confirm generation online. Blocked rows cannot post.

Generation is missing-only; existing Feed, Water and Not fed decisions are checked separately. Correct existing values through their correction actions. A missing-feed banner links here with the Lot selected, or to making it inactive.

Mortality rounds

The Mortality round for one lot, showing the house, birds alive and deaths to date above the entry row.

Select Lots or All farms and enter additional deaths. Recorded days are read-only; edit the day's total with a reason to correct it, including to zero. Review Recorded before, Change, Day total after and Live birds after. Unavailable history still allows new deaths to queue, but corrections need the prior total. Live birds uses the current count.

Broiler weight rounds

Open Weight round, choose Farm, Lots and Date, and enter individual weights in grams. Review multi-Lot samples before confirming. Each submission is a new sample; retry Rejected results only. Saved and Queued results remain visible across scope changes. Layer samples stay on the Layer Lot's Growth screen.
